The desk fan, not me. It will delightfully be replaced with a heater. Yup, it's that time again (....blurrrrb!).
Here, I'm trying out new ways to pp images with Photoshop.
It works well. I like it.

Thanks, MnX. I tried various pping routes and this one seemed to tickle me the most.

So tell me, what PP did you do to this image?

Hi Suby,
I must admit; I'm in the habit of not documenting my work in Photoshop and this has proven time and time again to be a mistake, esp when I need to refer back to a particular process. I guess I just find it more fun to just keep on trying and experimenting in the lab, till I get that good 'ol explosion.
In this case, I vaguely remember having three layers, one: original, two: a fill layer (colour of your choice), and three: duplicate of one. Did the curves for contrasting, then applied the Lighten blend mode to layer 2. and blurred layer three (Gaussian, 30px). Finally, I applied a linear dodge to layer three and made it transparent to my taste.
I hope this helps. I take it you're curious as you like the image. If so, more coming up. I've been enjoying the fun I've been having so far...if only I always had this much time on my hands.
Thanks for stopping by.

It can be a lot of work, but it is worth it to see what you can come up with. I love processing an image and trying new things and being surprised by the outcome.

Yea, it's the last bit I love the most, taking a step back to look at what you've just cooked, and then going "Raah!? Coool!".
Though, it's usually at this point that I start to kick myself, as I hardly would recall what I did. Oh, the pain! Well, I guess I'd better start dealing with the ol' habit.

I really like the texture of this shot. I think the post production here has been done very well, turning an ordinary image into something special.

Thanks, Aaron.
I will definitely be doing some pp along these lines alot more. I'm very happy with the outcome.
