Building the Bridge...

Officially opened in 1932, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, according to the Guiness Book of Records, is the widest long-span bridge in the world and is also the highest steel arch bridge. It is also the fourth-longest spanning-arch bridge in the world. Constructing it, I learnt, was a task...and then some. The above is one of the displays inside the bridge gallery, which is a fav with tourists. It portrays only a fraction of the work involved in building the structure years ago...
